Goal

Advancing human rights, combating discrimination, promoting the culture of peace, tolerance, dialogue, cooperation, intercultural values and non-violent conflict resolution.


Actions

PROMOTING DIVERSITY, HUMAN RIGHTS AND INCLUSIVE SOCIETY THROUGH LITERATURE AND ARTS

Innovative training for youth and secondary school teachers that focuses on the role of arts and humanities (in particular on literature, film and music) for educative purposes. The participants are educated through examples of art and informal education methods to understand and promote basic intercultural values. The training aims at raising participants’ awareness of other cultures, improving their sense for tolerance and breaking prejudices and xenophobia. In addition, during the training the participants develop skills and learn methods that enable them to act as peer educators for the promotion of intercultural values and intercultural dialogue.

CITY (DIS)APPEARING

Round-tables and workshops where the relations between the „native citizens“ and immigrants or „newcomers“ of a town/city are discussed. During the round-tables and workshops, the need to subsume the co-citizens under some of the negative stereotypes („newcomers“, „other-siders“, „Shiptars“, „Kosovars“, „hillbillies“) are analyzed. Values and attitudes of youth and older people, those who feel „urban“ as well as those considered to be „suburban“ etc. are intersected. Discussions gather together citizen education teachers, historians, sociologists…

INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE THROUGH CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS

Original ’’bottom-up’’ initiative leading to a multilayered, detailed concept of intercultural dialogue that involves the entire local community. Intercultural exchange results in an understanding and acceptance of “the Other”. Its aim is to build a stable, inclusive and sustainable community, created through cultural institutions, media and public campaign.

Initiating inter-cultural dialog through institutions promoting culture and media, in order to understand and accept “the Other” and build a stable, inclusive and sustainable community.
